The head of New York's Archdiocese is speaking about the massacre in Newton, Connecticut.

Timothy cardinal Dolan says when tragedies like this happen, it's important not to lose faith.

"We're always tempted at a somber moment like this to think ‘uh oh, evil is having the last word.' The reign of darkness seems to be winning, and no, what's Christmas all about? That goodness and life and light will triumph," said Cardinal Dolan.

Cardinal Dolan made his comments at the K-Mart in Lower Manhattan. The Cardinal was at the store shopping for the Saint Nicholas Project, which provides the needy with food and clothing all year round.
