'Operation Jersey Shore Santa' Helping Sandy Victims At Holidays

Posted: Updated:
KEANESBURG, N.J. -

This holiday season, many are still dealing with the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. Without homes to go to or open money to buy presents, a lot of families are worried.

Fox's Douglas Kennedy reports there's some holiday hope for those victims.

Around this time of year, Vanessa is usually hoping for a white Christmas. Instead, this year she has been preparing her four children for a Sandy Christmas, which to many on the Jersey Shore means no Christmas at all.

Vanessa is from Keanesburg, a community hit hard by Hurricane Sandy in late October. In fact, some residents there are so destitute they can't afford clothing, much less presents for Christmas.

To fellow Jersey Shore resident Stephanie Frederick, that's unacceptable. Nobody should be deprived of Christmas, especially those are who suffering.

So, Frederick started OperationJerseyShoreSanta.org. She has spent weeks collecting clothing and presents for sandy victims.

She says everyone deserves a visit from Santa.

Anyone who wants to make sure Santa comes there can go to OperationJerseyShoreSanta.org, Kennedy reported.
