Philadelphia School Cuts Protest Goes To Banks

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Protesters upset about the possible closing of dozens of Philadelphia schools took their beef to the banks this weekend.

"We won't take it anymore!" some of them shouted.

People demonstrated outside banks in Center City Philadelphia on Saturday. They claim banks are to blame for the district's financial problems.

They say the banks have zapped millions from the district in bad interest rate deals.

School closings and school safety took center stage at a community meeting Saturday morning in South Philadelphia. Angry parents lashed out at school officials over the plan to close schools and school buildings.
