Montgomery County, Pa. -
Two Broomall women are accused of operating an unlicensed dentist's practice inside the office of a real dentist during off hours.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced the arrests of Cheryl Laing and Jessica Gullickson in connection to the unauthorized practice at an office on Old Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr.
According to the DA, Laing and Gullickson worked for "Smilz 4 Life," a licensed dental practice. But when the practice closed for the day, investigators accuse the two of operating an unlicensed practice.
The DA says Laing, who worked as a dental assistant at the licensed office, would allegedly offer procedures to uninsured patients at a "drastically reduced price."Gullickson, who investigators say worked as a receptionist at the real practice, allegedly would assist Laing after business hours on the unlicensed procedures.
The two allegedly only accepted cash payments and didn't keep any patient records of their activities.
Investigators say the two even performed X-rays, the injections of numbing agents, root canals, tooth extractions and would install crowns and braces.
One patient, according to the DA's office, reported a procedure allegedly by Laing took 45 minutes and put him in "excruciating pain."
The DA's office says the two were charged with Corrupt Organizations, Criminal Conspiracy and multiple counts of Theft by Deception, among other charges.

It feels like summer out there. We're expecting milder temperatures than yesterday: highs in the mid 80s. Just like summer, it'll be humid, with a chance of a few spotty showers during the day.
This pattern stays in place until Thursday, when strong thunderstorms usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
