PHILADELPHIA -

The 1600 block of Walnut Street in Center City reopened to traffic Monday afternoon for the first time since a water main broke more than a week ago.

Crews say the road opened back up to traffic at 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Workers with the Philadelphia Water Department, PECO and PGW worked to repair the water main, which broke Saturday, December 8.

While the main was repaired and back in place by Sunday, crews had to work to repair the infrastructure damaged during the break.
