A 56-year-old Newark, Delaware woman who was reported missing more than a month ago was found in Toronto, Canada, police announced Tuesday.

Linda Hegg was reported missing on November 5 by the Newark Police Department. She was reported to have had an undisclosed medical condition.

Investigators say two days later, on November 7, a person from Canada who had seen the Newark Police press release told investigators they had heard of a case in which Toronto police were working to identify a woman known only as Linda.

Investigators say the woman walked into a Toronto shelter in September.

The information was forwarded to police in Toronto, who used DNA to positively identify the woman as Hegg.
