MARINE CITY, Mich. (WJBK) -- The Festerman family is fond of "Liquid Ass," foul smelling and all.
"It smells like somebody hasn't took a bath for three months and their butt is really, really sweaty and they haven't wiped their tush in a long time," said father Jason Festerman.
Now the Festermans love to let the fumes rip everywhere.
"We've gone to Kmart. We've had our kids with it and were spraying," Jason Festerman said. "We've done it at like Dollar General. Everyone laughed."
But nobody is laughing at Marine City Middle School.
"'He brought in something called 'Liquid Ass' and he sprayed it and that's not acceptable,'" Jason Festerman said.
Plus, it was his parents' property, so Jason was punished at home and at school, too.
"He got suspended for the day," said Jason Festerman.
"It's not that I'm angry that he was suspended," said mother Rekiba Festerman. "Rules are rules. He disrupted a class and he interrupted somebody's education."
So everybody is on the same page when it comes to the punishment, but the Festermans said it is what happened next that really stinks.
"They charged me with disorderly conduct. That's way above and beyond," said Jason Festerman.
Indeed charges have been requested because dad is accused of going up to the school, getting the discarded Liquid Ass out of the garbage and spraying the bottled B.O. again. School administrators believe it was to be spiteful over his displeasure of his son's punishment. The cops were called out. There was major concern. Police told me people were getting sick.
We're told dad was told, "'You're not welcome on the premises. I feel you attacked the student body and the teachers.'"
But this man said it was a misunderstanding, no malice at all.
"I wasn't spraying it to spray it. I was checking, unfortunately I had to pump it, to see if anything was in it and it was," he explained.
"It was just a harmless prank. Now I'm looking at 90 days in jail and up to $500 in fines."
