SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -- So many of you were touched by little Bradley Moore, Junior even though most of you haven't met him.  Our story about the desperate search to find a bone marrow match for him triggered a huge response.

Six-month-old Bradley was seemingly perfectly healthy when he was born, but at his four month check up, doctors discovered an enlarged liver and spleen.  It turns out he has a very rare form of leukemia.  The only thing that will save him is a bone marrow transplant.

After searching and waiting, a match was made.  Now Bradley is scheduled to have the transplant before Christmas.

"Bradley would then remain in the hospital until the new cells have had a chance to home in to the new bone marrow environment and have had enough chance to grow.  Typically that whole process involves on the average about a four to six week hospitalization," said Dr. Gregory Yanick with University of Michigan Mott's Children's Hospital.

We are going to continue to follow Bradley's progress for you.

After hearing his story, many of you wanted to help by registering with the National Marrow Donor Program.  You can still do that and possibly help the thousands of others who are right now waiting for a match.  Learn how at www.bethematch.org.

You can also join Fox 2 and Art Van on December 28 for a special blood and bone marrow drive at the furniture retailer's store in Warren.  Click here for more information.
