The Proper Way To Re-Gift

Hopefully this holiday season, we'll all get the presents for which we're wishing. But we may not be so lucky.

So, if you get something you don't want, and you're considering re-gifting, we have some tips for you to do it the right way.

Etiquette expert Keri White joined "Good Day" on Thursday morning to run down her list of tips for proper re-gifting.

White said a recent study showed that 58 percent of people re-gift or consider doing so. It saves money and reduces landfill waste.

But be honest with yourself. Make sure re-gifting makes sense. Make sure you label the items that are to be re-gifted, check the packaging and wrap it right!

If in doubt, consider alternatives, White said.
