Blame Game Continues As 'Fiscal Cliff' Talks Hit Crunch Time

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

The fiscal cliff debate continues on Capitol Hill as both sides of the political aisle have yet to reach a budget deal.

President Barack Obama was hit with a series of questions about the fiscal cliff during a news conference Wednesday.

The president's top aides indicated talks about coming apart, and pointed a finger at House Speaker John Boehner.

Boehner responded almost right away.

"Tomorrow, the House will pass legislation to make permanent tax relief for nearly every American – 99.81 percent of the American people," Boehner announced. "Then, the President will have a decision to make: He can call on Senate Democrats to pass that bill, or he can be responsible for the largest tax increase in American history."

Some politicians are warning of major market turmoil if a deal isn't reached in the next few days.

Fox News' Nicole Collins reported live Thursday morning from Washington with the latest.
