Some of the supplies needed for the end of the world, as recommended by the Zombie Survival Course in South Jersey.
The end of the world may or may not be coming tomorrow, December, 21, 2012, so why not be prepared just in case?
How could it all end? Some fear a zombie apocalypse.
Playing on that theme, Mark Scelza created the Zombie Survival Course, a camp based in South Jersey to equip you with the skills to fight off danger.
"The better prepared you are today, the easier tomorrow will be," Scelza told FOX 29 News.
Scelza explains that they offer real classes, but just use the zombie theme for fun. "It would help anyone in any kind of natural disaster like a hurricane or earthquake."
The hands-on doomsday training camps start out with a first aid lesson on how to deal with trauma wounds...stitches included. Scelza recommends all participants also take a first aid class.
Throughout the one day class or weekend sessions trainees will learn how to do anything from hot wire a car to shoot a crossbow.
"The first thing in any crisis situation is you need to get to a safe environment," Scelza stressed.
Scelza showed FOX 29 how to create a "bug-out" bag that you can grab and go and will help keep you safe for at least 72 hours. "The two most important things are water and basic food," Scelza said. He also packed a first aid kit, toilet paper, a basic tool kit, solar powered battery charger, and a mess kit for cooking.
The class also teaches self-defense against others and of course zombies...
Scelza says he does get some people that are convinced that something is going to happen on 12/21/12, " whether it's zombies or some kind of other apocalypse, yeah we have those people."
