NORTHAMPTON TWP., Pa. -

Council Rock High School South is closed Friday due to a threat, school district officials said.

The school district said in a statement that it received information Thursday night about a threat that was specific to Council Rock South.

The Northampton Township Police Department conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of a C.R. South student, who was taken into custody.

As a precaution, the high school is closed to allow police to conduct a security sweep of the building and ensure that the school is safe for students and staff.

Administrators said students and staff at C.R. South will not be allowed on campus until the police have finished their sweep.
