CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

No one was injured when a fire burned at a 3-story building in South Side Bridgeport early Tuesday morning, but there is still no word on the cause.

The still-and-box alarm fire happened just after 1 a.m. at 3012 S. Emerald Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs.

A FOX 32 News viewer captured video of the flames, which broke out on the vacant top floor. Firefighters fought the blaze with five water lines. Thankfully, the residents of the first two floors were not home.

Fire Media said no one was injured in the blaze. But two dogs and a cat were lost in the fire.

Representatives from the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago responded about 1:30 a.m. and stayed on the scene until about 4:30 a.m. to provide assistance to residents.

The Red Cross provided assistance -- such as food, clothing and shelter -- to two first floor residents, a Red Cross spokesman said. No second floor residents were home and the third floor was vacant at the time of the fire, the spokesman said.
