PHILADELPHIA -

Police are searching for the man who they say snatched a cell phone from an 18-year-old then pointed a gun at him after he was chased.

The robbery happened around 5:30 p.m. on December 15 on the 3200 block of North Broad Street outside or a Rite Aid store.

Police say the 18-year-old was walking north on 12th Street when a man approached him from behind and grabbed his cell phone.

The victim chased the suspect and after a short time later, police say the suspect pointed a gun at him and threatened to shoot.

Police describe the suspect as a black man who is between the ages of 25-30 standing 5'6" tall with a thin build, a mustache and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, a blue knit cap, black pants, a black backpack and ACG Nike boots.

If you have any information, you're asked to contact police at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or via text message at 773847.

You can view additional surveillance video of the suspect on the Philadelphia Police YouTube channel.
