KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -

Shoppers early Wednesday morning attempted to avoid the mess outside by heading inside to local malls.

But for many, it wasn't just a day to return those not quite right Christmas gifts.

A spokesperson for King of Prussia Mall tells FOX 29 that in the last few years, retailers have seen this week as a time for customers to spend money from their gift cards.

Some shoppers echoed the trend and said they visited the mall after Christmas Day to shop, not just to exchange.

Many shoppers, gift cards or not, reported great savings and some said they found better deals after Christmas than before.
