Hobby Lobby could face more than $1 million in fines starting Jan. 1 unless it changes its health care plan to include coverage for contraception.
Hobby Lobby is a Christian company and feels new federal laws requiring it to provide coverage for contraceptives are unconstitutional.
However, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has rejected an emergency injunction to block the imposition of the contraceptive coverage requirements in the new health care law.
Hobby Lobby can continue to challenge the law in the lower courts.
