If you are a skilled worker, Canada could be a land of opportunity for you.  As Fox's Anita Vogel found out, skilled laborers are in demand there and Americans are being recruited.

The Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia expect to face a shortage of skilled workers over the next ten years.   Meanwhile, according to Alberta's energy minister, there is a desire to increase oil production during that same timeframe.

"We have a lot of people retiring and we have a lot of major infrastructure projects," said Abigail Fulton with the British Columbia Construction Association.

"The kinds of positions that are open are people who are engineers, people who have welding skills, people who have skill sets in construction. It's a wide range," said Alberta Minister of Energy Ken Hughes.

As for salary, some workers could be looking at $150,000 or more a year.
