PRESCOTT, Ariz. -
Senator Highway in Yavapai County was closed Monday due to hazardous conditions.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes. People who live along Senator Highway south of the landslide can use Walker Road to drive north.
Although much of the rockslide has been cleared, Yavapai County Public Words officials are concerned about a section of the rock face that may be separating from the hillside.
Senator Highway runs south from Prescott through the community of Groom Creek to Crown King.
The closure is located about 3 miles south of the section where the road turns to dirt, between mile markers 10 and 11.
Officials will issue an all-clear once the road is passable.
