5 Shot, 3 Dead In Philly During First Hours Of 2013

PHILADELPHIA -
Four people were shot and two are dead after a pair of shootings in Philadelphia early this morning.
New Year's took a deadly turn first in Cobbs Creek. Shots rang out on the 5600 block of Carpenter Street just after 12:30 a.m. Police say a 16-year-old shot in the chest and hand was rushed to a hospital but pronounced dead.
There are no suspects at this time. The incident is under investigation.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m., a 24-year-old man was found shot once in the head on the 1600 block of Pratt Street in Frankford. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been reported, and a homicide investigation continues.
And a third deadly shooting occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. in the area of 17th and Venango streets in Nicetown.
Police say three people were shot at a house. One man, a 23-year-old, was rushed to a hospital but pronounced dead.
A 22-year-old shot twice in the chest and once in the foot is in critical condition, while another is stable with a wound to his foot.
There are reports of possible arrests near the scene, but homicide investigators said Tuesday afternoon that there are no charges yet in this case.
