Detroit mother facing murder charge after girl fatally stabbed

DETROIT (WJBK) -- A Detroit mother is charged with murder for the stabbing death of her eight-year-old daughter, but the woman's family said there is another person that police should question.

Does Tanisha Robinson believe her sister killed her daughter?

"No. There's no way. My sister did not even like to whoop her kids."

Semeria Greene is behind bars, but is there someone else who should be there with her?

"Jovan Mull, he should be arrested. He fled the scene of a crime," Robinson said.

Sources told Fox 2 that Mull is Greene's boyfriend and the father of three of her sons. He was at the house the night Tameria was killed. Records show Mull had been accused of abusing the little girl.

"I called CPS on him for my niece when she told me that he was beating my mommy and he made a mistake and hit me with a belt and he hit me again and I got a black eye, and she had bruises to prove it," said Robinson. "They came out and they took pictures and the police did nothing."

The report shows that night, just eleven months ago, Greene and Mull got into a knife fight and Tameria was hit in the eye with a belt. She and her brothers were never taken from the home.

Then came more calls for help. In October, her school noticed bruises and bite marks. Tameria said her mother did it. Child Protective Services recommended the children be removed, but a juvenile court referee said no. Just 30 days later, police were once again called to the apartment, discovered knives throughout the house and Tameria dead with a stab wound to her chest and a bite mark on her arm.

While Greene is charged with murder, Mull was at the vigil and has not been charged with a crime.

"He is either an accessory or a witness and he needs to be... questioned right now," Robinson said.

We were not able to reach Mull for comment and police will not comment because this is still an open investigation.

Meanwhile, Greene is due in court Thursday afternoon for arraignment on felony murder and child abuse charges.
