PHOENIX -
A firefighter was injured while battling an early morning blaze Thursday at a vacant home near 54th Lane and Cypress.
"One firefighter sustained second and third degree burns to one of his hands, he was transported to the county burn hospital," said Capt. Josh Segebarth of the Phoenix Fire Department.
Crews say the fire started in the home's garage. They were able to put it out before it spread to any nearby homes.
No other injuries were reported.
Investigators are now looking into what started the fire.
