Stoudemire's return gives MSG highest-rated game

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Knicks' loss to Portland in Amare Stoudemire's season debut was their highest-rated game on MSG Network this season.

The game drew a 5.3 rating, the network said Wednesday. The Trail Blazers beat the Knicks 105-100 on Tuesday, overcoming a season high-tying 45 points from Carmelo Anthony. Stoudemire scored six points off the bench in his return from left knee surgery.

The previous high was a 4.77 rating when the Rockets beat the Knicks last month in Jeremy Lin's return to New York.

Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned to a program.
