PD: Possible home invasion suspects arrested

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

Phoenix police arrested several people after officers witnessed what appeared to be a home invasion in progress.

This happened in a neighborhood near 19th Avenue and Camelback when officers were patrolling the area heard gun shots.

That's when they spotted a car speeding down the street after leaving a home.

They were able to stop the car after a short pursuit and arrest the people in the car.

We're not sure exactly how many people were in the car at the time.

"There was not an officer involved shooting and no officers were shot at.  We have several individuals detained and it appears that it may be drug related.  Injuries to the victims appear to be minor," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson.

The investigation is ongoing and the suspects' names were not released.

This is a developing story.  Stay with FOX 10 News for updates.
