SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. -
Pinal County Sheriff's deputies say a 47-year-old woman died after running her SUV into a power pole on Friday night.
Donna Love was driving in a Toyota 4 Runner when deputies say she crashed into an SRP metal power pole near Bella Vista Road and Quail Run. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, Love first ran into a tree near Bella Vista and Hunt Highway.
After the collision, witnesses say Love was driving recklessly. She was allegedly driving through the dirt on the side of the roadway, attempting to pass vehicles.
Deputies estimate Love was driving between 70 to 80 mph; the road has a 45 mph speed limit.
Sheriff Paul Babeu says evidence at the scene of the crash indicated Love was impaired by alcohol and prescription drugs at the time of the collision. She also wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
