Andy Reid told reporters Monday that he wanted to get to work immediately as he was introduced as the Kansas City Chiefs newest coach.
Chiefs' Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt officially welcomed Reid to Kansas City as the team's 13th head coach in club history.
"Throughout his career, Andy has established himself as one of the finest coaches in the National Football League," Hunt said in a statement.
"His integrity, knowledge of the game, work ethic and outstanding abilities as a teacher and communicator make him the ideal head coach to lead the Chiefs for many years to come."
Reid, who was only just fired from the Eagles last week, will enter his 22nd NFL season.
The former Eagle was let go by the team after posting a losing season in Philadelphia.
"I want to thank the Hunt family for allowing me the opportunity to lead this storied franchise," Reid said in a statement.
"The Chiefs have always had a passionate fan base and I'm looking forward to Sundays at Arrowhead Stadium. We've got a lot of work to do to get ready for next season, and we are going to get started immediately."
As for the Eagles, team executives are still searching for a head coach. The team traveled to Denver Sunday to meet with offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.
On Saturday, the Eagles interviewed Oregon head coach Chip Kelly for nine hours, but late Sunday night he told the team he would not be going to the National Football League.
