National Guard soldiers reunite with family

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Forty-five soldiers returned home Tuesday at the New York State Armory many anxious to be reunited with their families and get back to civilian life.

As the bus rolled up to 68 Lexington in the afternoon, Lourdes, her daughter, and her mother in law anxiously looked on. Finally after a year-long deployment for Sgt. Wilson Silva, the Silva family was reunited.

These soldiers are members of the New York Army National Guard's 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. They just spent the past year in the Middle East performing logistics, administrative, and security missions.

And at the end of the month, 125 more soldiers will return home.
