NEWTOWN, Conn. -

Talk about Sandy Hook Elementary School has turned from last months' massacre to the future with different opinions on what should happen to the school.

Some Newtown residents believe the school should be demolished and turned into a memorial in honor of those killed on December 14th.

Others, however, believe the school should be renovated, with the areas where the killings took place removed.

Nearly 200 people attended a public meeting on the building's future Sunday afternoon. The meeting was emotional, as many spoke in favor of keeping the school.

Although opinions are mixed, most agree the students of Sandy Hook and the teachers should stay together.

Newtown officials say in addition to the community meetings, the town is planning private gatherings with victims' families to get their input.

Another meeting on the school's future is set for Friday. Newtown officials say they hope to make a decision by the spring.
