NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Tuesday marks four years since one of the most amazing moments in New York City history.

Pilot Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger safely landed US Airways flight 1549 on the frigid waters of the Hudson River after a flock of Canada geese flew into the engine disabling it.

The plane landed within minutes of taking off from LaGuardia Airport. It was supposed to fly to Charlotte, N.C.

All 150 passengers and five crew members aboard the plane managed to walk out onto the wings of the plane as rescue crews moved them to safety.

The splash down on the river was quickly dubbed the 'Miracle on the Hudson.'

Capt. Sullenberger, since retried, became an international hero.
