West Englewood fire leaves 3 hospitalized

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Three people have been injured -- two critically -- in a fire at a home in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side Friday morning.

At least four ambulances were called to the fire at 6431 S. Marshfield Ave. about 9:30 a.m. The fire was on the first and second floors of a 2-story home, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Two people were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious to critical condition, and one person was taken from the scene in fair to serious condition to Saint Bernard Hospital, according to Fire Media. The ages and genders of the patients were not immediately known.
