CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Many couldn't go to Washington for President Obama's second inauguration. But residents of the president's hometown are still celebrating, with a $5 breakfast at Valois Cafe in his old neighborhood.
You can get yourself an inaugural breakfast of steak and eggs for only $5 Monday, as well as a number of other breakfast combinations.
FOX 32 News spoke with a couple whose son is performing with the South Shore Drill Team in the inaugural parade.
While their son celebrates in Washington, they're excited for him to have the opportunity – after putting in all that hard work practicing and raising the $45,000 that allowed them to go to the inauguration.
But they're also hoping for change in the president's second term. Inauguration Day is seen as a very patriotic day, even as the nation stands divided on the political front.
They'd like to see better schools in Chicago, a way to curb the gun violence in Chicago and across the country, lower taxes and for the nation to pull together.
