CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Tennessee man arrested after Chicago Police officers found him robbing a restaurant Sunday in the North Side Lakeview neighborhood was ordered held on $1,000,000 bond.

William Castle, 43, of the 4200 block of Bloomingdale in Kingsport, Tenn., was charged with aggravated robbery, unlawful restraint and aggravated kidnapping, according to police.

Castle entered a restaurant in the 3300 block of North Clark Street at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and asked a female employee to use the bathroom, police said. After she showed him where the bathroom was located, Castle grabbed her by the weapon, implied he had a weapon, and demanded the money from the cash register.

Upon receiving the money, Castle directed a female customer and her two children to the back of the restaurant, police said. They then locked themselves inside the bathroom.

Castle forced the female employee to lock the front door of the restaurant and then made sexual advances to her, police said.

Meanwhile the female customer used her cell phone to contact her husband, who then called Belmont District police officers, police said.

When officers arrived, they saw Castle inside struggling with the female employee, police said. Officers surrounded the restaurant and Castle noticed them approaching the front door.

He attempted to flee through the back of the restaurant but officers arrested him as he left the restaurant, police said.

He was arrested without incident and the victims positively identified him, police said. Also, $300 in stolen cash was recovered.

Castle is registered sex offender in the state of Tennessee, police said.

Castle was ordered held on $1,000,000 bond Monday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. He will next appear in court Jan. 28 at Branch 42.
