Police seek ‘armed and dangerous’ man wanted in beating

PALATINE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
Police are looking for a man suspected of beating a woman inside a car in an unincorporated area near Palatine.
An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for 34-year-old Joseph L. Lopez of Mount Prospect, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. Lopez is charged with aggravated domestic violence.
He is accused of "severely beating" a woman late Tuesday inside a car in a parking lot in unincorporated Palatine.
Lopez threatened to shoot police officers who come in contact with him and kill himself, police said in a statement. He is considered armed and dangerous.
