Morning Snow Changing Over To Wintry Mix, Rain

PHILADELPHIA -

We're starting to see the predicted switch over to some rain at the shore, and there's a wintry mix falling in some places.

In other places, we're in a lull, FOX 29's Sue Serio reports.

Some local school districts aren't taking any chances and have already decided to close for the day, while others have opted for delayed openings.

Around 10 a.m., Ultimate Doppler Radar was showing more pink on there than before, indicating some sleet was mixing in with our earlier snow.

Colder temperatures will hang on north and west of the city as we thought. And, although there are a few dry slots in there, we're not finished with precipitation, not by a long shot.

Temperatures are rising, though. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. for some north and west suburbs. But it has been lifted for Philadelphia, Delaware County, and the New Jersey suburbs, as temperatures have risen above freezing in those areas.

The city's forecast high is 37 degrees.

Eventually, everything changes over to rain and it stays above freezing, in the metro area tonight. So, expect some drizzle and fog later near the city.

The highest snow accumulations are expected in the Poconos, which could see up to an inch or two.

Overall, there haven't been too many reports of problems on the roads.

There's a big warm-up on the way. FOX 29's Sue Serio has your complete seven-day forecast in the video forecast.
