Snow, sleet, rain for tristate region

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The entire tristate region has the potential for seeing snow on Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a large portion of the area.

  • Areas north of I-80 could see snow accumulations of up to two inches.
  • The snow is expected to turn over to sleet for most of the area.
  • Coastal areas will see a change to rain.
  • A change over to sleet followed by rain is expected for NYC in the late afternoon.

Ice on top of snow could make driving difficult especially on untreated roads.

Warmer air is expected to filter in by Tuesday with a high temperature of around 50 degrees.
