Philly Ranks Among Best Cities To Lose Weight, Study Says

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Cheesesteaks, pretzels and hoagies apparently aren't enough to stop people in Philly from losing weight. A recent study conducted by the real estate website Trulia found that Philadelphia ranked among the top 10 best metros in the country for dropping pounds.

The study put together several measurements that would be part of a weight loss strategy, including; getting to work on your own steam, eating healthier food and doing more outside, among other things.

The measurements were then combined to put together the best metros to lose weight.

Philadelphia, ranked eighth behind Middlesex County, Massachusetts, New York and Boston.

San Francisco ranked at the top of Trulia's list.

The top 10 were ranked among the nation's 100 largest metros, the study said.

Study authors say they looked for the metros that offer "the best tools for people to lose weight," not the metros that have the fittest or thinnest people in the word.

You can see the list for yourself on the Trulia website.
