An elderly woman suffered serious injuries after she was hit while riding her bicycle in the crosswalk in Scottsdale Monday afternoon.
The woman was hit by a Mazda, while riding through the crosswalk near Hayden and McDowell Road, said Scottsdale Police Officer David Pubins. The driver was making a right hand turn and did not see her.
The woman was transported to Scottsdale Osborn hospital in critical condition.
McDowell Road was closed for a few hours after rescue crews and police arrived.
Police said the driver was not under the influence of alcohol.
No names or ages were released.
