Australian Schools Ban Blowing Out Birthday Candles Because Of Germs

Celebrating a birthday at school for kids in Australia just got a little less fun.

The country's national health council says that children can no longer blow out the candles on a birthday cake at school because it spreads too many germs.

Officials say the ban is to give parents peace of mind.

But some parents are actually outraged, saying the new rules take all the fun out of being a kid.
