GILBERT, Ariz. -
Police say a man told a fast food employee he was "having a bad day" before committing an armed robbery on Wednesday afternoon.
74-year-old James Richard Miletta went into the Burger King at Warner and Val Vista Roads, told the cashier he was "having a bad day" and then allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded money from the register.
The cashier gave Miletta an undisclosed amount of money and he left the restaurant.
Witnesses told police they saw Miletta get into a tan Chevy car. About five minutes later, officers saw the car and pulled Miletta over near Val Vista and Elliot Roads.
Officers found a handgun and the stolen money in Miletta's car.
Miletta was taken into custody and confessed to the alleged armed robbery. He was booked into jail and is in custody on a $48,000 bond.
