A 7-year-old brought a loaded gun to the John F. Reynolds Elementary School in Philadelphia Monday morning, district officials tell FOX 29.

The gun was found around 8:15 a.m. at the school, located at 24th and Jefferson streets in North Philadelphia.

District officials say the gun was loaded and that the boy was showing it off to other students during breakfast in the school's lunchroom.

Students notified school police and the gun was recovered.
