PATH fare-beater gets 7 years in prison

NEW YORK (AP) - A man found carrying a loaded weapon after jumping over a subway turnstile has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Ruben Sanabria was arrested at the 14th Street PATH station last March 30.

After stopping him for not paying the $2.25 fare, police found a .40-caliber handgun and extra bullets on him.

Sanabria pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon.

The New York Post (http://bit.ly/VcIabH ) says Sanabria also was sentenced to 3 ½ years parole.
