Livability.com calls Scottsdale 'Most Romantic City'

Posted: Updated:
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

You don't need to take your sweetheart far this Valentine's Day. The most romantic city in the country is right here in the valley.

Scottsdale is beautiful. That's one of the reasons livability.com picked this city as their number one romantic place to be. Locals are not surprised.

"It's a great city, great restaurants, great ambience, great nightlife, no doubt [this is the most romantic]," says Scottsdale resident Todd Brook.

Todd is showing visitors the popular sights in Scottsdale on a segway. They are impressed.

"It's gorgeous here," says visitor Renee Paley.

The weather and the beauty brings in the visitors, but locals already know this city is romantic.

Even Scottsdale City Hall is romantic, with all the fountains and flowers and of course, the love sculpture.

Robert Indiana's art work has been here for years. But what does in new honor mean for Scottsdale's economy?

"It helps with the branding of Scottsdale and reminding people can come here and enjoy themselves, relax and rejuvenate," says Rachael Pearson, Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Rachael Pearson has stocked her office with all kinds of brochures with things to do and see in Scottsdale. Everything from the great outdoors to a quiet romantic dinner.

But one visitor is still waiting for the romance.

"I'm going home tomorrow, I don't think it's going to happen," says Paley.

She'll just have to come back and stay awhile.
