SYTYCD judges impressed with Detroit's talent

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

When all's said and done, the 'So You Think You Can Dance' judges might wish they'd have come to the Motor City earlier.

As the auditions continue at the Fillmore Theatre for the hit FOX show, judges Twitch, Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy say they're impressed with the city's dance talent. "So far, so good," said Twitch, who noted a slick dance called 'jitting' that was created in Detroit and combines a mix of the Jitterbug and gliding.

Murphy says they've already given one contestant a pass to Las Vegas to compete on the show's national stage.

This is the show's first stop in Detroit to search for talent.

SYTYCD will air on FOX this summer.

Parents and teachers know school supplies don't come cheap. Many teachers even buy school supplies out-of-pocket. But now, a new Detroit company is doing more than selling school supplies - they're also giving back.
