Gilbert home empty while fire blazes - Philadelphia News, Weather and Sports from WTXF FOX 29

A fire destroyed a home near Elliot and Gilbert Road early Friday morning.

When firefighters arrived, there was no one outside the home, so they were unsure if there was anyone inside.

Firefighters say they later figured out no one was home. Two adults and two dogs reportedly live there, but firefighters say they haven't seen or spoken to them. 

The home was declared a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
