CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. -

An 18-year-old driver died early Sunday morning after police say her car left the road and struck a tree in Chester County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the car was about to approach a curve in the area of Old Kennett Road, east of Burnt Mill Road in Kennett Township when it veered off the road, hitting the tree.

State police say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene while a passenger, a 16-year-old, was taken to A.I. DuPont Hospital in Delaware with non-life threatening injuries.

On Sunday afternoon, Pennsylvania State Police identified the driver as Kristen Felkowski of Wilmington. The passenger, whose name has not been released, is from Scranton.
