KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -

Several students enjoyed the day off from school Monday at one of the nation's most historical parks on this President's Day.

Valley Forge National Historic Park celebrated the day with a birthday cake for America's first president, George Washington.

An actor who posed as Washington was even on hand and pulled out a sword to cut the cake.

Those in attendance got the opportunity to get a feel for what it was like to be a Revolutionary War soldier and the chance to handle a musket.

Organizers say the event is a popular one for kids to learn about the nation's early history.

The park is best known as the location where General Washington and the Continental Army camped during the Revolutionary War.
