More people are moving out of their big homes and into something a little more snug.
A new study of Census data shows people are deciding bigger isn't always better.
About 4 million Americans moved locally, rather than across state or county lines, during the 2007-2009 recession.
It was found that 41 percent of Americans moved into bigger homes before the recession but only 30 percent moved for that reason during the recession.
According to the study out Wednesday, an increasing number of people moved into less expensive homes or moved in with family and friends throughout 2010.
FOX 10's Diane Ryan talks to a realtor about the trend.
