New Study Says Airfare Cheapest On Weekends

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

You no longer need to deprive yourself of sleep in order to get the best deals on airfare.

A new study in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization found that plane tickets bought on the weekends are about five percent cheaper than those bought during the week.

The findings are based on non-stop, round trip flights and only apply to destinations that are not considered prime vacation spots.

People are still best off buying tickets several weeks in advance.

We were chatting about the study this morning on "Good Day." You can watch the conversation in the video clip above.
