WAUKEGAN, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -
Bond was set Wednesday at $3 million for the man charged with the shooting death in North Chicago of 18-year-old Janay McFarlane.
A city spokesman said Wednesday that Jim McPherson, 21, believed to be from Chicago, was charged with murder, armed violence, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
His bond was set at $3 million at a bond court appearance on Wednesday.
Another suspect potentially faces charges, the spokesman said. He's being held on a parole violation.
Authorities expect to disclose more information at a press conference later Wednesday.
McFarlane was shot nine times in an alley in the 1300 block of Jackson Street in North Chicago. McFarlane was gunned down Friday just hours after her sister stood on stage with President Barack Obama as he delivered an address against violence in Chicago.
