A woman was shot and wounded after she allegedly pointed a gun at a police officer in a Mesa retirement community.Mesa Police say 52-year-old Nannette Johnson was shot by detective Donald Williams after she refused orders to drop a gun on Wednesday. Williams was serving a warrant to Johnson, charging her with driving under the influence, at her home at Dream Land Villa retirement community.According to officers, Johnson said she didn't want to go to jail and darted into her home.Williams followed Johnson and says he saw her get a handgun and run out the back door. Williams told Johnson to put down the gun multiple times, but she ignored him and allegedly pointed the gun at him. Police say Williams fired one shot at the woman and she was taken to a hospital, where she is in serious but stable condition.
