Philly Mobster Sentenced To 55 Months In Federal Racketeering Case

PHILADELPHIA -

A 46-year-old man who admitted to being a member of a well-known Philadelphia organized crime family was sentenced Monday to 55 months in prison on racketeering and conspiracy charges.

Louis Fazzini pleaded guilty to conspiring and participating in racketeering activity with the Philadelphia La Cosa Nostra family and a crew associated with the family based in North Jersey, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Fazzini admitted to operating a sports bookmaking business and created a fake scheme to obtain health benefits through a "no show" job controlled by the LCN family, prosecutors said.

FBI, IRS and police investigators found that through the "no show" position, Fazzini wouldn't work but would still receive health benefits.

Fazzini will serve three years of supervised release following his 55-month prison sentence.

An armed deli robbery is caught on camera. Two brazen gunmen held up the store owner with the man's kids right nearby. It's scary enough having armed gunmen storm your business.
